Super recomendadisimo! 💖😻

3。75*I really enjoyed it, even if it was slightly predictable。 Beauty & the Beast has forever been my favourite traditional Disney princess (apart from Pocahontas & Mulan) so I was expecting to at least partially like it due to that。 I do however feel as if I can already predict what is going to happen with the rest of the series, so it will be interesting to see if I’m right。

This is my new favorite book! Goodness, I love everything about it。 I love the CP representation, and the romance。 This book had me turning pages so quickly! The relationship between Harper and Rhen really goes through growth。 This book had me so invested so quickly, and it made me forget I was reading。 Brigid does a great job of making a powerful main character。 The world of Emberfall is just simply magical, to put it shortly!

A strong 4 stars for this book。 Imaginative, well paced with witty dialogue and twists。 Enjoyed it a lot。

I read this book quite quickly and enjoyed it。 The romance, despite being the main plot point, felt off。 Any romantic moment between Harper and Rhen felt out of nowhere, and a times felt like a fan fiction。 Grey, especially at the very end of the book, I loved。 He was extremely relatable for me and I found him lots of fun to read about。 Reading about the intricacies of ruling a country were strangely interesting, and seeing Rhen and Harper’s different outlook on what they should do。 Overall, it I read this book quite quickly and enjoyed it。 The romance, despite being the main plot point, felt off。 Any romantic moment between Harper and Rhen felt out of nowhere, and a times felt like a fan fiction。 Grey, especially at the very end of the book, I loved。 He was extremely relatable for me and I found him lots of fun to read about。 Reading about the intricacies of ruling a country were strangely interesting, and seeing Rhen and Harper’s different outlook on what they should do。 Overall, it was a very enjoyable read and I loved the fact that the chapters were short。 。。。more

It was easy to get into。 I liked the main character。 It did remind me a lot of ACOTAR by Sarah。J。Maas, so I automatically connected this book to that and I believe it kind of ruined the experience a bit for me。

Wonderfully unique telling of a classic fairy tale。 The strong female lead is inspiring。 I enjoyed having two narrators alternate to tell the story。Fast read and exciting development between characters and plot。

DNF : 50%My conclusion is that Brigid Kemmerer should stick with the Young Adult Contemporary genre or my fault is mine because I grew old 😂The point is that there are more black holes like why Harper doesn't freak out that she arrives in a different world, the pacing is painfully slow and the characters are meh plus that I sense a love triangle that I hate。 In the end this book was not for me, her contemporary books are pure gold but fantasy?! I really loved this。 I hate that I read some other more negative reviews prior to finishing this, because I can sort've see the points they made about how this isn't the most epic of romances。 I loved every genuine moment of their romance and I have no complaints, except basically the very last line, which of course is a spoiler, (view spoiler)[but she still can't say she loves him? This was this book for me。 We have a badass heroine with cerebral palsy, slow burn enemies to lovers, a bit of magic and a beast of course。 Did I mention that it's a Beauty and the Beast retelling? (Sadly, there is no library in this version)。 We follow Harper who is being the look out for her brother while he shakes some guy down for money, because he's stuck working for the loan shark their dad got caught up in。 Out of nowhere she sees a man try to abduct a girl, so Harper attacks him and ends up in Emberfall。 Enter the cursed, and frankly broody, Prince Rhen。 Not to mention his trusty and ever loyal commander of the guard, Grey。 Grey has to be my favorite character, though we don't get chapters from his pov, only Rhen and Harper's。 I just loved adventure Harper was having and how much growth it gave her。 I loved her friendship with Grey and her unfailing kindness for everyone she met in that strange Kingdom。 Except for Lilith。 She can rot in Hell。 We also get Harper's brother who just proves a point (with of Game of Throne reference) that readers are more equipped to find themselves suddenly in roy court situation and can pretend accordingly 😂。 This is definitely going to be a comfort read for me, and I can not wait to read the next one, but I'm on a book ban so 🤷🏾‍♂️ it will have to wait。 。。。more

Amazing rep)。 Every “season” Rhen turns into a deadly terrifying monster who brings death and destruction upon his kingdom。 This book is YA which essentially means they’re teenagers。 I loved this book。 Did I love it enough to stop what I’m doing to read the sequel? No。 But I did love it。 I liked Harper’s badass-ness and, despite his beastly issues, I really liked Rhen。 I appreciated that it wasn’t a “I don’t care if I’ve been kidnapped, I love him at first sight” situation。 Harper hated Rhen at first because…。 I mean…he had her kidnapped。 But she grows to appreciate him for what he is and grows to love him。 If all of the above sounds good to you, pick this book up。 You will not be disappointed。4 starts。Brigid Kemmerer is the New York Times bestselling author of dark and alluring Young Adult novels like A Curse So Dark and Lonely, More Than We Can Tell, and Letters to the Lost (Bloomsbury), as well as paranormal YA stories like The Elemental Series and Thicker Than Water (Kensington)。 A full time writer, Brigid lives in the Baltimore area with her husband, her boys, her dog, and her cat。 When she’s not writing or being a mommy, you can usually find her with her hands wrapped around a barbell。 。。。more

Ok, I have to admit this book didn't exactly hook me from the first page, but I am glad it progressively got better。 To the surprise of absolutely no one, my favorite character turned out to be Grey, but the two main characters were very compelling (and you already know I was a sucker for their romance)。 The book was a little slow for me at times, but the whole concept made it all worth it。 Lately, I've been paying closer attention to the villains: their depth and motives, but Lilith was just pl Ok, I have to admit this book didn't exactly hook me from the first page, but I am glad it progressively got better。 To the surprise of absolutely no one, my favorite character turned out to be Grey, but the two main characters were very compelling (and you already know I was a sucker for their romance)。 The book was a little slow for me at times, but the whole concept made it all worth it。 Lately, I've been paying closer attention to the villains: their depth and motives, but Lilith was just plain annoying。 Powerful and badass, yes (but still annoying)。 I will say that the final plot twist left me absolutely shooketh, so I'm very excited about where Brigid is gonna take this in the sequel。 。。。more

2。5 stars, rounded up because at least the writing kept me reading。Well that ending sucked! It could have been a lovely stand alone, Rhen sacrificed to kill Lilith then Grey as rightful heir getting with Harper to rule the country but nooooo it had to be a series, one where Harper doesn’t get to be with the guy she has chemistry with no she has to be with the bland prince。I may read on if I can get them from the library but otherwise I’m done and off to live in my fantasy world where Harper and G 2。5 stars, rounded up because at least the writing kept me reading。Well that ending sucked! It could have been a lovely stand alone, Rhen sacrificed to kill Lilith then Grey as rightful heir getting with Harper to rule the country but nooooo it had to be a series, one where Harper doesn’t get to be with the guy she has chemistry with no she has to be with the bland prince。I may read on if I can get them from the library but otherwise I’m done and off to live in my fantasy world where Harper and Grey marry, Jacob and Noah set up a seasonal exchange program and Emberfall prospers。 。。。more

4。5 ⭐️ Last couple hundred pages were pretty beautiful。 And the one liners from a few of the characters were jokes。 My only qualms being is this a love triangle or not? I’m assuming not and if it isn’t I feel as though the relationships between the two main antagonists should have been focused on more。 Not sure I liked that ending if I’m honest。 Feel as tho the epilogue could have been altered for a happy ending making it a stand-alone rather than a trilogy。 Sort of don’t want to read the next b 4。5 ⭐️ Last couple hundred pages were pretty beautiful。 And the one liners from a few of the characters were jokes。 My only qualms being is this a love triangle or not?
